Telepresence Technology – A Special Type of Video Conferencing Technology
Telepresence Technology is a type of video conferencing technique which aids in bringing in all the participants of the conference down in the same room without being physically present over there. This setup involves: -
1} A L.C.D T.V. ‘with high density screens’ so that all the participants present in the room are able to visualize the screen comfortably. This screen is necessary to enable the eye to eye contact.
2} Microphone: - The use of microphone is done to make the communication easier and even faster.
3} Web camera: - The most important video conferencing equipment without which it is impossible to carry on the desktop video conference is the web camera. It is a device with the help of which the group of people to whom one is addressing can visualize him.
The continuous increase in the competition in the corporate world and need to meet the toughest challenge in the shortest span of time has led to the acceptance of this technology in almost all the work places. It has reduced down the distance and has made it possible to interact while the other person is not physically present at that place.
