Infants are only aware of one way to communicate with their mother when they are not at a stage to talk, and that is to cry which usually gets the attention they crave. You may notice colic on infants as young as three weeks in the form of belly pain or recurring spasm. Depending on how severe the case is the pain will usually persist from about three hours up to as much as twelve or fifteen hours. When a baby endures colic, becomes hypertonic and can show alternate body postures that involve contractions, sudden stretching, spastically stiffening. If a parent notes these symptoms they should observe their baby carefully, these signs could simply be colic or a sign of a digestive issue. Until now, pediatricians and individuals in the medical world have yet to learn the causes of colic in babies. Although, there have been assorted studies that indicate the possible causes of the condition that affects twenty percent of infants in the world. It is very feasible that your baby developed colic because their immune, digestive, and nervous systems are not as well grown and more easily compormised.

Others say that colic can be a consequence of some environmental factors like certain milk recipes and cow’s milk for certain babies. Continuously crying kids, without any apparent reason, are thought to have colic. According to figures, every 10th child which is born suffers from intestinal colic which is characterized by an stomach pain in babies. Intestinal colic attacks tend to be most frequent during or right after a meal. Crying can start and then last for 3 hours or longer.
